This program has some controversy but it also has great results as well. Students can and will work together.
No matter how safe you make a classroom, an office building or an arena if someone wants to get inside and cause as much harm as they can, they will why not be prepared? School safety in Las Vegas should be a priority. Just as it should be throughout the Nation. Hire a trained Veteran who is use to working in stressful situations, has undergone psychological testing as part of their reintegration program into civilian life. Give them a purpose that lets them use their training. Just like in Maryland:
The sheriff praised the school resource officer, Deputy First Class Blaine Gaskill, a six-year veteran in his first year at the high school, for containing the situation in less than a minute.
"He had to cover significant ground," Cameron said. "The premise is simple: You go to the sound of gunfire."
Here in Clark County, Nevada a number of buildings have been retrofit to include bulletproof glass not only at the entrances and exits but anywhere there is glass in the interior doors. They have also implemented steel doors in which nothing can penetrate them. So why not our school? At this last County Commissioners meeting here in Clark County, Nevada they were approving building improvements why not our schools safety. If you agree with me then Cast your vote, November 06, 2018, for CHERLYN ARRINGTON , so I can be your voice in the legislature.
Today in Clark County, Nevada,Family Support there is a similar system in place. The building has cameras, bulletproof glass and armed security. With today's threats they took it one step further and implemented a system very similar to this one. I happen to know first hand about this system because someone close to me was one of the individuals in charge of making these changes. Click on this link to be taken to the video
